🔑 What you’ll be doing

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a key role in strengthening Host Wise’s internal accounting structure, bringing greater accuracy, control and consistency to our financial operations.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a hands-on, ownership-driven mindset, and who is motivated by building structure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and reliability across financial records;
  • Preparing monthly closings and supporting the delivery of timely and consistent financial information;
  • Ensuring compliance with tax and accounting obligations under the Portuguese framework (IVA, retenções, etc.);
  • Managing reconciliations, supporting current account control, and maintaining strong documentation standards;
  • Supporting the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting in close collaboration with the CFO;
  • Improving accounting processes, controls and workflows to support scale and operational efficiency;
  • Providing structure and review support across the finance team, helping raise the quality and consistency of execution.

Requirements

Skills for the Role

  • Degree in Accounting, Management or similar;
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with exposure to ERPs and invoicing systems;
  • Certified Chartered Accountant (Portuguese TOC / OCC certification);
  • Strong knowledge of Portuguese tax and accounting framework;
  • Autonomous profile with strong ownership mindset.
